How can Indian bloggers make money from a newly launched blog without selling self or affiliate products and not using Adsense?
If you are reading this, it means you have launched a new blog and want to know how you can make money blogging.
And no matter how much you read online, those are not for the new blogs. Furthermore, they aren’t from an Indian perspective.
Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. I’ve shared time and again, how and why every Indian should consider blogging.
I have mentioned how to earn as a blogger more from an established blog point of view. Today I will share how anyone who has just launched their blog can start making money almost instantly.
Further, because my article will focus on new blogs, I will not share how you can make money with Affiliate marketing, sell products, or put Ads because I know it doesn’t work for new blogs.
So, you have come to the right place, and I am sure you will be able to make money with the help of your new blog that you have launched and isn’t getting much traffic or readers.
Why No Adsense?
I am a fan of Adsense, but you need a lot of traffic to make a decent income from Adsense for new blogs. By a lot, I mean at least 2 to 5 thousand page views per day.
I say this because generally, the eCPM in Adsense ranges from $1 to $2.
I know it varies on the niche and the audience’s geography, but we take a general perspective to understand why I don’t recommend Adsense on a new blog.
So if we simplify the calculation and consider that one can earn ₹100 (between $1 and $2) for every thousand page views (PVs), you will need four to five thousand page views per day to make 10 to 15 thousand rupees per month.
Unless you can make 10 thousand rupees, you may lose interest in the blog. Furthermore, because everything depends on the traffic numbers, you will be in a rat race to get more traffic instead of creating more value for the readers.
Why No Affiliate Marketing?
As a new blogger, when you read blog success stories of how a 5-page blog makes tons of money for the blogger using affiliate marketing. So you are tempted to blog the same way.
The most important aspect is to be able to understand that it is not his five pieces of content that are making money for the blogger. It is his expertise and experience to find and write such blog articles.
Furthermore, some people boost sales screenshot, but they use Google Ads to drive sales. You only see the earnings part but not the expenses parts.
Still, I assume you are following a genuine blogger like Pat Flynn or Tai Lopez, and they do make handsome money but not overnight. It is a long process where they try a product, reject many such products, and then review and recommend the right product that makes money.
So when you copy and rewrite the article, you find it doesn’t work, and you may end up giving up on blogging too soon.
Why No Selling Products?
As a new blog, you don’t have an audience. So you don’t have an understanding of what kind of products your audience will ultimately want from you.
So if you create a product, you are assuming people need it. However, in reality, it can be that no one is interested in what you are offering.
So you may end up wasting a lot more time on the product. Instead, if you use the same time building the blog, it can be a lot more productive.
Finally, How to Make Money with Newly Launched Blog
So, without ads, and no selling of products or recommending other people products, here are some of the ways a newly launched blog can make money.
Better Pay with a Blog
Whatever you are doing, let the blog help you get better pay from it.
It can be that you are doing a job and let the blog be such that it can help you move up on the pay scale. I am sure you can find a way of doing it.
As a developer, I can share how a developer can do it. For example, if a developer works in a programming language, he can choose to show his expertise in a different programming language and move up in pay scale to move from one type of jobs to another.
I did the same in my early days of career where I moved from Visual Basic job into web programming and marketing because I had articles related to web and SEO. I was not too fond of the work profile, and I was back into C++ job again.
Similarly, a designer can move from being a logo designer to web designer using a blog and then look for a better job in the web design niche. However, one can also move from being a web designer to creating viral content for social media.
The blog can help you grow as an individual personally and professionally.
The best and the easiest way to get better pay from the blog is to get better at what you are doing and ask for better compensation from your current employer or even a new employer.
Change the viewpoint to make money only form the traffic that comes to your blog but something to enhance as individuals and income will eventually follow.
Get More Clients
Get more clients from your blog. However, I am not suggesting that you should drive traffic and bring in clients.
When I say get more clients, I mean to use your blog as a source of samples. So you can have an example of what you do share on your blog, and use the same piece in an Upwork Proposal template.
Furthermore, you can use the same content to drive traffic, but the whole point is to avoid traffic numbers when your blog is new. So your blog can help you get the edge on marketplaces like Upwork.
The idea is to generate incremental revenue from the blog to keep building the new blog. As your blog grows, it can be an excellent alternate source of clients for you.
Ghost Writing Deals
When you start a blog, you learn to write. So you can be a ghostwriter for other bloggers.
Ghostwriters write but the content is not published in the writer’s name but in the name of the original blogger who owns the blog.
BizTips is my blog, and I always prefer to write all my content but just for the sake of an example, if I have a topic where I can give an outline of what I want, but those details can be written by someone else.
If you have an interesting blog, it becomes easy for you to grab such writing deals for sure.
So if you are a web designer and have written blogs on web design, you can be a perfect candidate to ghostwrite for some of the top web design blogs and get paid for writing along with the design jobs.
Again, the whole point is to use your blog as an asset to get a lot of side deals that don’t depend on the traffic numbers to your blog.
Book / Ebook Deals
Ebook deals are not that easy to crack, and you should be a writer in a prevalent topic because then only you will be able to get a good ebook deal from a publisher.
Apart from blog writing, you may even need to write an eBook to show it as a sample to crack the deal. However, you can use the ebook written as a free give away on your blog for subscribing to your blog.
Moreover, you can also enter into eBook writing competitions to show you can deliver good quality books/ebooks.
Ghostwriting for is a lot easier to crack than books/ebooks deal. However, a blogger can get book/ebook deals.
Promote Offline Business
As an Indian blogger, the best way to make money from a blog is to build and grow an existing offline business.
Bloggers often consider the offline and online business as two separate entity and don’t promote one over the other. They think that offline business is for offline promotion and a blog is for advertising on social media and SEO.
However, one should find a way to cross-promote each other, and it is one of the better ways to generate business and promote the blog.
Let me share an example to help you understand. Let’s say you own a shop to sell office chairs. You can blog about the right postures to sit in the office or ways to do it to avoid back pain and other such issues.
So any customer who comes to your shop can refer them to the blog and help them choose the right product. Using the blog, you can have the edge over the other shops in the area and even sell a better chair for them instead of the low-cost one they prefer to buy.
Similarly, you can use the shop to promote the blog. Furthermore, your blog can help you get orders from vide area than what your shop can command.
A complete win-win for both the business.
Sponsored Post / Reviews
Many businesses are looking for a genuine review of their product from bloggers.
You can accept payment and provide a genuine review of the product.
After my detail review of AWeber and Moosend, I was offered to review other competing products. I review products only if I find the product interesting enough for my personal use. Because I am not using other email automation software, I didn’t write about them.
But the point I am trying to put across is you can review one of the product in a niche and then ask the competitors to do a detailed review of their product for a fee. Most will agree if your review is high quality with lots of insider details.
However, one should always tag a sponsored review appropriately.
Events (Webinar / Workshop)
Finally, events are an excellent way for a newly launched blog can make money.
When we think about events of webinars, we assume numbers in the range of hundreds of participants. However, you should be okay with participants count in single digits.
The idea for the new blogger is to get in the groove of organising workshops/webinar. You have to learn to use the right tools, building an email list of participants using paid promotion on FB or Google Ads.
However, even with small traffic numbers, you should organise a webinar with 5 to 10 people and get into the mode of doing it. After a few successful free webinars or workshop, you can start charging for it as well.
So focus on learning, and over time you can make a webinar or workshop with a lot more participants.
