5 Simple and Yet Effective Tips to Increase RSS Readers

My blog hit 2500 RSS readers today. I started BizTips sometime back, but today it crossed the first milestone of 2500 RSS Subscribers. I will share the process I follow to increase RSS readers.

1. Reliable and Unique Content

Good and reliable content is the sole reason I think for my increase in readership. I know there are lots of people in Make Money Online Arena who write about the same, but I give my perspective on each of the products that make BizTips unique.

At the end of it, a blogger who is passionate about the topic or niche can create more amazing content than a blogger who is a newbie and knows very little about a niche.

2. Connect with Readers

Every blogger has to connect with its readers to be successful and increase blog readers via RSS.

If you cannot take the pain of replying to the queries of your readers, help them, you will not get much success.

Successful blogger not only prompts the reader to leave comments on the blog but also take active interests in replying to them.

3. Offer RSS by Email

As you can see, Aweber’s Blog Broadcast is a significant contributor to my RSS subscribers count. It is the main reason for my increase in readers via RSS.

If you are not offering the blog content to be sent over to users in an email, you can lose a large chunk of your readers.

Many argue about using Feedburner for Email Subscription, but I don’t prefer it that way.

4. Make It Easy for Readers to Subscribe

Goes without saying that you should not make your RSS subscription hidden in some corner of your page. Instead, allow the user to find it more quickly than anything else on your blog.

Never assume that your readers are smart enough to see the URL to your RSS feed hidden in some corner of the site.

5. Consider Readers (not Google or SEO) a Foundation

Building the blog readership should be the number one priority.

A blog subscriber is far more critical than a visitor who drops by from a search engine or even a backlink from a blog. Of course, they are essential but not as much as readers.
